The greatest birthday present is the GIFT of GOD'S PRESENCE

From the time of before she was born, God made it clear to me that He had given me the profound privilege of allowing His Presence to come into the realm of "time" and "space" and touch her on a very real and regular basis. It has been His mandate to Jim and myself. And we have so much fun when we worship God, pray, and linger in His Presence in our home with her. This has also been a 'place' of creative release for us and her, as well. My prayer is that His Presence would become as natural to her as breathing in air. She's only three! Boy, I would have loved that as a kid. Home is the place for this! Other environments are only meant to supplement. Jim and I are so glad to facilitate this for her. Of course, we clearly don't neglect the many other aspects of allowing her to just be a kid. And I am surely not expecting her to be an adult in her spirituality either. It just seems like God's affinity and Presence with children is so real and we have the joy of making space for His heart to touch them. And His word is full of experiences of children running to Him, sitting on His lap, listening to Him......It feels so RIGHT and so sacred to make this a real part of her life. So along with lot's of daily adventure, fun, play, and just plain living a kids life, it will never be enough to just ask God's blessing on what "we are doing" with her daily, although that is a part of it. It is in heart to heart communication we can say, "let us be a part of what You are doing Lord!" She gets the wonderful safe environment (with her imperfect parents) to connect with God, grow in her knowledge and understanding of Him and His ways. And all the while, it is safe and easy and light- not religious, rigid or uptight. But that she was created to "experience God's Presence" on an deeper heart level regularly. And in that place we know He helps her emotionally, intellectually, physically, and in every way. He has no limits in our lives. And it is He Who knows her best. And the awesome added benefit is, that, we get to be in it with her.......life is good!
